Lower Saucon Council Unanimously Supports Halloween Parade

Despite recent tensions between the municipalities, Lower Saucon Council voted unanimously at its August 16, 2023, council meeting to again continue its financial support of the Hellertown Halloween Parade (formerly the Saucon Valley Spirit Parade), with a donation of $1,000. Township Manager Mark Hudson explained that the Township received a donation request for the parade, as the Township does every year, and that the Township has historically donated $1,000 toward the community event. “Unless there are any questions or comments from Council, I’ll make a motion to give a $1,000 donation to the 2023 Hellertown Halloween Parade,” Council President Banonis motioned. It was seconded by Councilmember Sandra Yerger and approved 5-0.

After the vote, Councilmember Priscilla DeLeon referred to Council’s participation in the parade last year, in which they rode together to throw candy to parade attendees, seen here.

The parade will be held on Sunday, October 22 beginning at 2:00 PM. As in previous years there will be no rain date. The theme for this year’s parade is “Celebrating Hometown Heroes.”

Additionally, this year, an ‘After the Parade Party’ will be held and all are welcomed! The party will be held at Dimmick Park immediately following the conclusion of the parade and will include a live band and well as free food and additional food options for purchase.

According to the Hellertown Halloween Parade’s Facebook Page, additional community sponsors helping to make the parade happen include:
